Travel Security
Sri Lanka provides a dedicated Tourism Police Division to ensure the safety and protection of all visitors. Their main responsibilities include:

Assisting tourists with safety concerns and general inquiries

Providing help at major attractions, beaches, and cultural sites

Handling complaints such as theft, harassment, or lost belongings

Supporting tourists during emergencies, accidents, or medical situations

Maintaining security in key tourist destinations
Tourism Police officers are trained to communicate in English and are stationed in major tourist areas such as Colombo, Galle, Kandy, Sigiriya, Ella, Negombo, and Nuwara Eliya.
Their presence helps ensure that tourists can travel comfortably and confidently throughout the island
